They’ve helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples. Now twelve new couples will find themselves in the wedding spotlight in the second Year of Weddings novella collection.
April knows her job as maid of honor is to fulfill her sister’s every wish—whatever the bride wants, she will have. Unless it involves Jack Vaughn.
April Quinn loves her sister and wants to make sure the week of her wedding is the happiest of her life, even if it means putting up with Kristin’s every crazy whim. But when Kristin hires Jack Vaughn as the wedding singer, all sisterly devotion flies out the window. No way will she work with Jack after what he stole from her.
Jack Vaughn is supposed be beyond these small gigs. After all, he’s on the cusp of launching his first headlining tour. But accepting the job was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and it will mean seeing April again. Surely she has forgiven him for that one lapse of judgment so long ago—the decision that shot him to stardom and left her behind, writing songs and waiting tables.
As April and Jack keep appearances for the sake of Kristen’s happiness, they rediscover a chemistry that never quite fizzled out. But will they be able to rewrite two solos into a timeless duet?

Another amazing story by Amy Matayo! I couldn't stop reading it and dreaded the two words that a reader never wants to see on a page...THE END! My obsession to finish this story was so bad that I took it to Sunday prayer, prayed for a few minutes, and then nestled into the back pew to read. It's christian fiction, He will understand, right?!I definitely had some laugh out loud moments! The only thing I hated was that it ended WAY to soon! I want to know what happens to Jack and April...like do they get married and have Marvin Gaye played at their wedding? Do they have kids? Do they write/record the next best album? I hate not knowing!
If you haven't read this gem, do so now-you won't be sorry!!

In Tune with Love An April Wedding Story A Year of Weddings Novella Book 5 edition by Amy Matayo Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I'm a big fan of Amy Matayo, so I was super excited to find out that she was invited to be part of this year's A Year of Weddings series! The story itself is interesting and unique. I mean, the thought of someone making a huge career for himself by stealing another person's—and a friend's no less!—lyrics had me intrigued. Throw in reconnecting with said friend and a bridezilla and I'm totally interested. All of the drama around the wedding totally stressed me out, but it made for a good story.
I think the biggest challenge for me is the length of the story. Amy writes what many consider to be "edgier" stories, so they're full of snark and sarcasm and characters that aren't quite as easy to love as what you might normally find in a romance story. While this plays out nicely in a full-length story where readers have a chance to get to know the characters over a longer period of time and more fully understand their history (and therefore their snark), for me it didn't come off quite as well in such a short novella. I really felt like this was the beginning of a story that I wanted to read a lot more of. (Amy, if you happen to be reading this and ever decide to go back and revisit April and Jack, I'll definitely read that story!)
I'm thoroughly happy to have read In Tune With Love, but I want more! If you've read anything by Amy before, you'll definitely enjoy this story. And if you haven't, well, give it a shot. I'm sure glad I did! [3.5 stars]
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. However, all opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way.
Really didn't care for this one. I don't have a problem reading secular books. What I do have a problem with is marketing something as Christian (it's published by Zondervan, a Christian publisher) when there was only a token mention of God and that was kinda of at the end. The characters were shallow and I just didn't care for it.
Great read.
Cute and fun romance. It was an easy read and I enjoyed it very much. I just wish it was longer.
Very nice short story with lots of humor! Just wish it had been longer because I loved the characters. Amy needs to turn this into a book.
Stories with musicians are a weakness of mine and this one did not disappoint. I LOVED it with a capital L. It was a quick read and I didn't want it to end.
Such a fun read...I loved it! The chemistry between Jack and April was great, which is hard to get sometimes in a novella. The sarcasm and wit made it all the more fun. But I would have LOVED this to be a full-length novel...I'm dying to know what happens next! But it still made a great novella...didn't feel rushed or like you missed out on half a story or anything. It was great fun!
