I enjoyed the book because I wanted light reading and this filled the bill. The plot was unrealistic, but I didn't care because most romances are unrealistic. Ben was almost too good to be true, but it was very hard not to love him. Jonathan was easy not to like from the very beginning. I was continually frustrated with Ashley because she chose to believe her wrong assumptions about Ben more than the evidence before her eyes. I've seen many authors drag out a character's misconceptions to keep the plot going while the reader is silently screaming at the blinded character to see how wrong she is. Such plots are predictable because the reader knows what appears to be compromising evidence that a male character is unfaithful or lacking character is just the author's ploy to create tension when it otherwise appears the female protagonist is about ready to throw her doubts away and commit. When an author uses this ploy too often in the same book, as Davis did in this, it becomes tedious. Yet, in spite of these flaws, the book entertained me. People who don't read as critically as I do may not even notice what bothered me.Product details

The story was good and the characters were fun to read about. Thank you for such an interesting book! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is a sweet Christian romance with a cute storyline and likeable characters. I thought they both could have been more forthcoming with each other--but then there wouldn't be any conflict.
Starts out a little awkward, but quickly draws you into the storyline. As advertised, it is really a sweet Christian romance.
I loved Ben, who was sweet and sincere. Ashley didn't win much points because I found her indecisive and just plain confused about everything - but maybe it's due to her recent break up. Still, sincere Ben made me give a rating of 4 stars.
She just broke up with a man who was directionless and irresponsible and she watched her mother live the same life with her father. Her future would be different - she is going to have security and stability, she was sure of it... she had a list that described Mr. Right. So what happens when she is literally swept off her feet by a janitor playing Santa in July and asked out by a doctor in her gallery? It's a tough decision because sometimes the Lord communicates through the heart and not through a list.
It is not an overly religious romance but it does teach to trust His will. It's wonderful to watch the misconceptions unravel themselves; not through angst but through gentle movements. I found myself smiling over these characters for throughout the next day after reading, I am going to read more by this author. Thank you Ms. Davis for bringing us this story. I can't wait to read what other stories you have to tell.
I admit being frustrated with Ashley to the point of skimming some pages just to get on with it. Ben was too good to be true. Johnathon was all about his career. Ashley's parents kept secrets. But putting it all together made for a sweet read.
Ashley Jensen’s boyfriend for twelve years breaks up with her. She should have recognized how much he was like her lazy father and that the relationship was going nowhere. She runs into a man who dresses as Santa and works in a year-round Christmas shop. Is Ben Wright just another worthless man? How can she tell or ever learn to trust?
Ben Wright is bowled over by the pretty woman, and he’s determined to prove himself to her. But the harder he tries, the more she retreats. And to top it all, she’s also dating a doctor, a man she considers to be more stable. But Ben wants her to love him for the person he is and not his material wealth. Will she ever let him tear down the walls she’d built around her heart?
This was a difficult book to put down. I found the characters and the story enthralling. There was only a handful of minor errors - “wood” for the adjective “wooden” a couple of times, “massage” for “message,” and “arling” for “darling.” However, I fell in love with the novel and would highly recommend it.
