They are always so much fun to read. See a list of some of her other books at the bottom of this review post. Check them ALL out! Rose Tinted is book two in the series so be sure to read Sugar Coated first.
From the very beginning Brynn is going crazy with terrible dreams full of the evil woman. Brynn tries to find a way to take down the bad guys with her friends, but things don’t go as planned. The two main guy characters are so different and make things very entertaining. I’m really looking forward to reading book 3!
Sugar Coated was fun and exciting! Have fun reading this series.

The second involves actual details once I had a second to compose all of my excitement lol
I normally feel pretty intrepid with second books in dystopian trilogies, they always fall a bit short from the first installment for me. However Rose Tinted does a beautiful job with jumping right back into the story, and staying fast paced and exciting throughout. It's so much fun being on this journey with Brynn, and also really scary and nerve wracking, because awe man does she encounter some straight up crazy things! (Ugh I hate Eris with such passion!)
There are new characters to round out the cast, but there is a wonderful balance with the old gang as well. There is both lots of team work and a complete lack thereof in finding out about the mysteries surrounding the "Angels" and the lives everyone leads. These character dynamics are refreshing and the reveals they/we encounter are unexpected and heart wrenching. I felt so much for these fictional characters, and yeah, I cried, sue me...
As for the "love triangle," I usually have a love/hate relationship with the concept, but it was handled in such a real and new way, so kuddos Author! I'm always squarely rooting for one "Team," but I was just as torn between Ty and Jonah as Brynn was. I loved that amidst all the action, there were still time for these characters to just talk and maybe even kiss ;)
Sorry this review is getting long, let me wrap up a few other things I very much enjoyed the world building was great, there was surprising character development in places I didn't expect, the dialogue was hilarious (especially with Rusty), the impact of what was happening really hit, and it was wonderful to see how these characters reacted under so much pressure.
This book is a solid read and I most definitely recommended it! Also, I hate the star rating system on here, so FYI I would give this book a 92% )
I love this story of dedication and love. The courage Brynn displays is such an example of what we all need in this life to endure to the end!
This has been a good series. Very interesting and suspenseful. I can hardly wait to find out how it ends
A great addition to The Sugar Coated series! As well as another of Shannen's infamous cliff hangers ;-) Cannot believe the twist she threw in there! I was so utterly appalled to say the least, but I won't spoil it, you'll just have to read it yourself to find out what I'm talking about )
If you're going to read this, make sure you read Sugar Coated first!!!! This is a sequel!
Get to know Bryn. A girl in a futuristic world who wants answers and isn't afraid to get them (no matter what others say or what the government wants)
Can't believe the cliffhanger! The story picked up perfectly from sugar coated and revealed just enough to keep the book good but not enough to have spoilers that ruin the story. Amber and Bennett show what true friends are and show how first impressions aren't always right. I can't wait till the next book!!
This is the second book in the series. Things are a lot more complicated in this book than the first and there are some big surprises that I didn't see coming and wonder even now what they mean. I don't like how invincible the angles are. There needs to be some weaknesses or everything seems impossible and there is no hope. At this point I see no way they can win against them, but surely they will find a way. The ending was very disturbing and strange. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
